The daily user activity on the Farcaster Protocol, a decentralized network for social media applications, has experienced a remarkable 400% surge in the past week, following the introduction of “frames” on the Warpcast social media app.
According to data from Dune Analytics, daily active users on the Farcaster network increased from around 5,000 on January 28th to over 24,700 on February 3rd. Frames were integrated into Warpcast on January 27th.
This surge in user engagement is directly related to the overwhelming interest in “frames,” a new feature allowing users to interact with external links and applications without leaving the Warpcast app.
The number of daily “new users” has also skyrocketed, reaching over 2 million by February 3rd, marking an astonishing 1,000% increase compared to the approximately 200,000 users the week before on January 28th.
Frames enable users to create NFTs, conduct transactions, request tokens, read blog posts from external sources, and participate in surveys without the need to sign transactions or exit the app.
Established in 2020 by former Coinbase engineer Dan Romero and Varun Srinivasan, Farcaster describes itself as a “sufficiently decentralized” social network. While the terms can be confusing, Warpcast is a social media app, or client application, built on the Farcaster network.
This remarkable growth in user activity highlights the rapid adoption and enthusiasm surrounding the introduction of frames within the Farcaster Protocol and its impact on social media engagement.
