Blockchain detectives have flagged several Ethereum (ETH) transactions from a wallet linked to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin in September 2023, with a total value of over $3.9 million USD.
Separate blockchain monitoring profiles have shared details about a 400 ETH transaction, worth an estimated $632,000 USD, from Vitalik’s wallet to Coinbase on September 25th.
According to Spot On Chain, Buterin’s most recent transaction is the latest in a series of ETH deposits to centralized exchanges over the past 10 days. The blockchain analysis platform estimates that Buterin sent approximately 2,421 ETH (worth $3.94 million USD) starting from September 15th.
The platform has highlighted that Buterin sent up to 321 ETH to Kraken between September 15th and September 19th. Buterin is also believed to have sent a total of 1,700 ETH to Bitstamp in several transactions on September 17th and September 20th, as well as 500 ETH to Paxos on September 19th.
Cointelegraph independently verified some of these transactions using Nansen 2 beta wallet profile access. Blockchain data also reveals the transfer of 2,000 ETH (valued at $4.9 million USD) to the address that conducted these transactions from another wallet with a long-standing link to Ethereum’s co-founder.
According to Spot On Chain, the source of the 2,000 ETH transaction is a “well-known address” (0xD04daa65144b97F147fbc9a9B45E741dF0A28fd7) belonging to Buterin rather than the intermediary address (0x5567A4bE2D5b77F5Fd870f99Ed9167Feab8831B1) that sent funds to exchanges.
