Google Cloud has joined over 100 other validators to verify transactions on its Ethereum Layer-2 network.
Validators on the Polygon network enhance network security by running nodes, staking MATIC tokens, and participating in the proof-of-stake consensus mechanism.
Google Cloud Singapore’s account confirmed on Twitter that Google Cloud is “currently serving as a validator on the Polygon PoS network” and added that it would “contribute to the overall security, governance, and decentralization of the network alongside more than 100 other validators.”
While many Polygon validators remain anonymous, Google Cloud has joined the network of Germany’s Deutsche Telekom, one of Europe’s largest telecommunications companies.
Google Cloud describes its relationship with Polygon Labs as an “ongoing strategic collaboration.” In addition to announcing its participation in the network as a validator, Google Cloud Asia Pacific has also released a YouTube video titled “Polygon Labs is solving for a Web3 future for all.”
