On November 6th, Mishaboar, a core developer of Dogecoin, unexpectedly sent out an important security message to all DOGE token holders. Specifically, the developer raised an alarm about an email encouraging users to withdraw funds from the website “Dogechain dot info” (Dogechain.com). Mishaboar emphasized that DOGE holders should directly enter “Dogechain dot info” into their web browser instead of clicking on links in the email. This is a crucial step to protect against phishing attempts.
Prior to this, many users encountered issues with their wallets due to the loss of 2FA authentication. In such cases, users can seek support from the website developers, who may request legal documentation to disable 2FA authentication, provided there is other login information available.
Furthermore, Mishaboar recommended users to keep their assets in self-managed wallets and stressed the importance of backing up keys multiple times, as well as storing offline seed phrases securely.
He advised only keeping a small amount in hot wallets while encouraging newcomers to exercise caution when dealing with smart contracts, including NFTs.
Lastly, the Dogecoin developer reminded users to withdraw funds from exchanges, emphasizing the importance of maintaining control and security over their cryptocurrency assets.
