The community has discovered that Bitcoin and Dogecoin have been added to the source code of Tesla’s official payment website. This discovery has raised suspicions that Tesla might be considering adding payment support for these two tokens.
This brings hope that Tesla’s payment service for both Bitcoin and Dogecoin might be launched soon.
Elon Musk has previously hinted several times on Twitter about adding a Bitcoin payment feature, although there has been no official information about its launch.
In Tesla’s Q2/2023 report, the company did not make any purchases or sales of Bitcoin. Currently, the company is holding 333 million USD worth of BTC after selling over 30,000 BTC (approximately 75% of the Bitcoin they purchased in 2021 – worth 1.5 billion USD).
