In an email sent to customers on July 5th, Bitwage, a company that provides cryptocurrency payroll services, announced that they will disable USD Coin (USDC) payments for their U.S. customers.
According to the announcement, aside from USDC, U.S. customers will still be able to receive payments in other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) and alternative stablecoin options like Celo Dollar (CUSD), Tether (USDT), and DAI.
It is worth noting that this move comes less than a week after the company announced its collaboration with Vibrant “to enable seamless and fee-free payments using USD stablecoin for remote workers worldwide.”
Bitwage has processed over $200 million in salary payments and has over 50,000 registered workers on its platform.
The company is headquartered in San Francisco and operates salary payment services in the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
