Revolut, an online financial company, is discontinuing its cryptocurrency services in the United States due to regulatory uncertainties. They have announced that they will delist some digital assets from their platform and then completely suspend all cryptocurrency services for US users.
Along with their US banking partner, Revolut will temporarily suspend access to cryptocurrencies through their platform starting from September 2nd. Then, on October 3rd, they will shut down all cryptocurrency services in the US. This means that customers will no longer be able to buy, sell, or hold any type of cryptocurrency through Revolut in the US.
Revolut stated that this decision will only affect “just 1%” of their global cryptocurrency customers, and they will continue their non-cryptocurrency business operations in the US.
However, this decision was not made lightly, and the company understands that it may cause disappointment for some customers. They have pledged to support their cryptocurrency customers by providing information and addressing any concerns through email and in-app chat.
